Question 98) - What is fine ruling of Istinja?

A: It is Sunnah fulfilled by wiping the place with a stone, mud or other substitute until the place is clean. To do so in odd numbers is better, not Wajib. Washing with water is better. If the Najasah extends beyond the place of emission, then stone and the like will not suffice. To use water or liquid will be Wajib.
