For the Iqaamah to be Given when the Imaam is Ready

Q: Salaah-371: What is the ruling with regard to the Mu'adhin starting the Iqaamah for the Fajr salaah while the Imaam is still performing the Sunnah salaah?

Answer: The Mu'adhin has to follow the indication of the Imaam and may therefore not call out the Iqaamah without the indication or instruction of the Imaam even though the Imaam is present. It is also Makrooh for the people to stand up before the Imaam does. Hadhrat Jaabir RADI. reports that the Mu'adhin would not call out the Iqaamah until Rasulullaah SAW. arrived. And And Allaah knows best what is most correct.
