Answer
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Assalamu 'alaykum wa Rahmatullahi Wabarakatuh
It is permissible to give zakah to one’s son in law,[1] on condition he is a legitimate recipient of zakah.[2] (i.e. At the time of receiving zakah, apart from miqdari qaradh (the amount of debts) he is not a sahib nisab.)
1 (Raddul Mukhtaar Vol.2, Pg.346, HM Sa?d)
2 (Hid?yah, Vol.1,Pg.205)
When a person will be regarded as a s?hib nis?b? and for other basic rules on zak?h search for Fatw? #14969 and #17114 on www.askimam.org OR “who is entitled to receive zakah” in Bahisti Zewar.
And Allah Ta'ala Knows Best Wassalamu 'alaykum
