Q: 15 – Title: Is Qurbani permissible before I perform my Eid Salah?

Question

I have a question related to qurbani..

Is it permissible to give qurbani after the first eid salat in your city and before your own eid salat.

Is it permissible to give qurbani after the eid salat of any one member of tthe family.

Answer

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salamu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullahi wa-barakatuh.

In principle, one is allowed to do his Qurbani after the first ‘Eid Salah is performed in his city irrespective of whether he has performed the ‘Eid Salah or not. [1] [2]

و ضحى بعد ما صلى أحد الفريقين يجوز استحسانا و في القياس ينتظر صلاة الفريقين جميعا

قال في الأجناس: أول وقت الأضحية لأهل السواد طلوع الفجر الثاني من يوم النحر، و في حق أهل المصر عند فراغ الامام من صلوة العيد يوم النحر

[2]If your Qurbani is being done elsewhere, then the location of where your Qurbani is will be taken into consideration and accordingly the Qurbani can be done after ‘Eid Salah of that place.
