SALAAH.. The Book of Prayer - Etiquettes of Salaah

Q: Salaah-71: When the Imaam. proceeds into Ruku, some people run to join him in Ruku, thereby causing disturbance to those performing salaah. What is the ruling according to the Shari'ah?

Answer: A person may not run in this case because running is forbidden even if it means missing the Ruku. Rasulullaah SAW. said, "Do not run for salaah, but approach it with composure. If you miss the Rakaah, you may make it up later. It must also be borne in mind that running in the Masjid violates the sanctity of the Masjid as well, especially when this disturbs the Musallis.

Hadhrat Umar RADI. was once leading the salaah when a person entered the Masjid and threw down what he was carrying to join the salaah. Hadhrat Umar RADI. punished the man after the salaah, saying, "This is because you disturbed the Musallis. And Allaah knows best what is most correct.
