Giving One's Place in s Row to a Pious Person

Q: Salaah-583: Is it correct for a person in the first row to give his place to a pious man when salaah is about to commence and then stand in the second row?

Answer: Moving from the first row and giving one's place to a pious person as a token of reverence is permissible and not at all Makrooh. In fact, it is the appropriate thing to do. And Allaah knows best what is most correct.
