Which Side must the Imaam turn to make Du'aa after the Fair and Asr salaahs?

Q: Salaah-244: Towards which direction should the Imaam turn after the completing the Fajr and Asr salaahs?

Answer: It is best to turn to the right, but the Imaam ought to turn sometimes to the left as well so that people do not regard it to be compulsory.

Commenting on this,Mulla Ali Qaari rah. writes, The person who insists on doing something that is allowed and regards it to be compulsory without ever practising on the alternative, has been afflicted by the guiles of Shaytaan. Now what can be said about the one who insists on carrying out acts of Bid'ah and sin?

The author of Maima'ul Bihaar (Vol.2 Pg.244) states that a permitted act can become Makrooh when it is elevated above its status (by regarding it to be compulsory).
