How Loudly does the Imaam need to Recite during the Audible salaahs?

Q: Salaah-579: Our Imaam recites Qiraa'ah so silently that even the people in the first row cannot hear if they listen attentively. Is the salaah valid?

Answer: The Imraam needs to be a person who can recite the Qur'aan in a good voice, with proper Tajweed and in a tone by which all or most of the Musallis can hear him. If the Imaam's voice is so soft that all or most of the Musallis are unable to hear him. the salaah will be valid if the people of the first row are able to hear him. It is however best not to appoint such a person as the Imaam.

Ghaayatul Awtaar states that the minimum degree of audible Qiraa'ah is for another person to hear, while the minimum degree of silent Qiraa'ah is to hear oneself. Therefore, if only one or two persons hear the Qiraa'ah, it will not be regarded as audible Qiraa'ah because at least everyone nearby the Imaam in the first row need to hear his Qiraa'ah.

And Allaah knows best what is most correct.
