Performing Qasr when Travelling from the Want lqaamah to the Watn Asli

Q: Salaah-125: I work in a place that lies approximately 130 miles away rout my home. When returning home, I have to perform a few salaahs en route, While I cannot perform Qasr at home, do I have to perform it while travelling? While some people tell me to perform Qasr, others say that I have to perform the salaah in full. Please explain.

Answer: It is necessary to perform Qasr in this case. Nurul Idhaa (Pg.108) states that a person will continue performing Qasr salaah as long as he does not enter his Watn Asli (place of permanent residence) or his Watn lqaamah (place of temporary residence, where he intends staying for fifteen or more days).
