The Janaazah salaah when the Body has Decomposed

Q: Janaa'iz-45: Will the Janaazah salaah be performed if the body has decomposed?

Answer: A body that has decomposed and has broken up is not conducive for Janaazah salaah. The body needs to be intact for the Janaazah salaah tobe performed. And Allaah knows best what is most correct.

Reciting Portions of the Qur'aan after Burial

Q: Janaa'iz-46: After burial. it is noticed in some places that the Imaam stands at the head side of the grave and recites Surah Baqara from (ILAH) until MUFLIHUN He then proceeds to the feet side where he recites from (AAMANAR RASULU) until the end of the Surah. Is this practice substantiated?

Answer: Yes, it is Mustahab to recite in this fashion' It should be recited silently and sometimes even left out so that people do not regard it to be compulsory. Hadhrat Abdullaah bin Umar RADI. stated that the opening verses of Surah Baqara should be recited the head side of the grave and the closing verses at the feet side. Shaami (Vol.1 Pg.838) states that Hadhrat Abdullaah bin Umar RADI. regarded this to be Mustahab. And Allaah knows best what is most correct.
