Walking with Shoes in the Graveyard

Q: Janaa'iz-44: I have heard from childhood that it is forbidden to walk with shoes in the graveyard. What is the ruling in this regard?

Answer: It is greatly forbidden and Makrooh to walk on a grave either with or without shoes . There is however no harm in walking with shoes in the graveyard on places where there are no graves. This is not even Makrooh. In the interests of caution it is best to remove the shoes when one is engaged in making du'aa beside the grave. And Allaah knows best what is most correct.
