Can a Woman Observe I'tikaaf at Home?

Q: I'tkaaf-3: Can a woman observe the Sunnah I'tikaaf at home?

Answer: A woman may observe I'tikaaf at home in the place where she performs her five daily salaahs. It will however not be permissible if there is no specified place for salaah. One may, of course, specify a place for salaah when one intends observing the I'tikaaf and I'tikaaf may take place there. And Allaah knows best what is most correct.
