Having a Cataract Operation

Q: Salaah-82: I need a cataract operation to avoid going blind. However, the doctors do not permit performing salaah even by indication for a few days when the operation is to take place. Should I have the operation or not?

Answer: The operation may be carried out as a necessity. If you are able to perform salaah by indications of the head, you may not perform Qadhaa. However, if this is also too painful, you may perform the salaahs as Qadhaa. And Allaah knows best what is most correct.
