A Musaafir Performed Four Rakaahs salaah

Q: Salaah-266: What is the ruling when a Musaafir performs four Rakaahs Zuhr instead of two?

Answer: If he had done so intentionally, he will be sinful and will have to Repeat the salaah, even though he may have performed Sajdah Sahw. However, if he did so in error, Sajdah Sahw will transform the first two Rakaahs into Fardh and the second two into Nafl on condition that he sat for the Qa'dah after two Rakaahs. If he did not sit, the Fardh salaah will be nullified and all four will be regarded as Nafl. Sajdah Sahw will however also be necessary in this case.' And Allaah knows best what is most correct. Whenever a Muhaajir went for Hajj, Rasulullaah SAW. always advised him never to stay for more than three days afterwards.t And Allaah knows best what is most correct.
