One Stands after the Second Rakaah of the Taraaweeh salaah Instead of Sitting

Q: Salaah-203: What is the ruling when a person stands up after the second Rakaah of the Taraaweeh salaah instead of sitting?

Answer: The person should sit down as soon as he remembers as long as he does not make the Sajdah for the third Rakaah. He must then perform the Sajdah Sahw and complete the salaah as normal. However, if he has already made Sajdah for the third Rakaah, he must add another Rakaah to make it four and then perform Sajdah Sahw at the end. The salaah will however be regarded as a two Rakaah salaah and not a four Rakaah salaah.
