Performing the Taraaweeh salaah without Fasting

Q: Salaah-302: someone performed the.Taraaweeh salaah when he did not fast and had no valid reason to miss the fast. Is his Taraaweeh salaah accepted?

Answer: Only Allaah can decide whether it is accepted or not. From a jurisprudential point of view, the Taraaweeh salaah is valid because fasting is not a precondition for the validity of the Taraaweeh salaah' However, the sin of missing a fast with no valid excuse is so grave that it will be no wonder, if because of it, the rewards for the Taraaweeh salaah are completely destroyed.

Rasulullaah SAW. said that the person who misses a fast of Ramadhaan without any valid reason or illness will be unable to attain its virtue even if he has to fast all his life. And Allaah knows best what is most correct.
