A Person who joined the Taraaweeh salaah after performing his Isha salaah at home

Q: Salaah-304: A sick person performed his Isha salaah at home but then mustered up the courage to go to the Masjid to perform the Taraaweeh salaah. He then joined the (Isha) Jamaa'ah with the intention of performing Taraaweeh. Will these four Rakaahs be regarded as Taraaweeh for him?

Answer: These will not be regarded as Taraaweeh because although the Taraaweeh salaah is of a lesser status than the Fardh (Isha) salaah, it is a special Sunnah Mu'akkadah salaah and its status needs to be taken into account. And Allaah knows best what is most correct.
