Two Jamaa'ahs for the Taraaweeh salaah in the Masjid

Q: Salaah-599: During Ramadhaan, a second Jamaa'ah reciting three paras perform the Taraaweeh salaah on the roof of our Masjid. Can two Jamaa'ahs take place in one Masiid? please explain.

Answer: The best option will be for all to perform their Isha salaah together in Jamaa'ah and then for those wishing to recite three para to go to some house to perform the Taraaweeh salaah. They should not perform the Taraaweeh salaah in the Masjid or on the roof of the Masjid. Every story of the Masjid also falls into the category of the roof. People may perform salaah on another story of the Masjid only when there is a great need to do so. The issue has been addressed in more detail in a previous Fatwa of Fataawaa Raheemiyyah. And Allaah knows best what is most correct.
