On which Date should the Qur'aan be Completed?

Q: Salaah-600: Is it established from the practice of the Sahabah RADI. to complete the Qur'aan on the 27th night of Ramadhaan? What is the ruling concerning, this to be necessary?

Answer: Sunnah Mu'akkadah to complete the entire Qur'aan in the Taraaweeh salaah, the details of which have passed in a previous Fatwa of Fataawaa Raheemiyyah. The practice of completing on the 27th night had started because this is regarded to be an auspicious night. Additional rewards are therefore anticipated, just as people prefer to pay their zakaah during the Ramadhaan. There is therefore no cause for complaint as long as no one regards the act to be Sunnah. And Allaah knows best what is most correct.
