Question 1682) - Are there other conditions for establishing the lineage of the child of a woman in Iddah besides what you have mentioned?

A: According to Imaam Abu Hanifah RAH. it is a condition that two men or a man and two women testify that she gave birth.If however her pregnancy was apparent, or the husband admits to it, then the lineage is established without Arsh. According to Imaam Abu Yusuf RAH. and Imaam Muhammed RAH. the Arsh (testification) of one woman establishes the lineage in all scenarios.

NOTE: The maximum pregnancy period is two years and the minimum is six months.
