His Justice and Integrity

Hadhrat Sa'd bin Abi Waqqaas RADI. was one of the ten fortunate men whom Rasulullaah SAW. given the glad tidings of their entry into Jannah. He says, "After Uthmaan RADI. have never seen anyone passing rulings more justly than the man behind this door (Hadhrat Mu'aawiya RADI.)

When someone spoke of the justice of Hadhrat Umar bin Abdul Azeez RAH. to Hadhrat A'mash RAH. he remarked, "What would you have said then if you had met Hadhrat Mu'aawiya RADI. About his tolerance?" the people asked. "No," said Hadhrat A'mash RADI. About his justice."

Hadhrat Qabeesah bin Jaabir RADI. said, "I have never seen anyone more tolerant, more deserving of being followed, more dignified, more soft-hearted and more willing to do good than Mu'aawiya RADI.

When someone asked Hadhrat Ibn Mubaarak RADI. who was the better between Hadhrat Mu'aawiya RADI. and Hadhrat Umar bin Abdul Azeez RAH. he replied, "The dust that settled in the nostril of the horse of Hadhrat Mu'aawiya RADI. when he was with Rasulullaah SAW. is better than A hundred and one people like Umar bin Abdul Azeez."

Someone once asked Hadhrat Ma'aani bin Imraan RAH. (In terms of justice) What is the comparison between Umar bin Abdul Azeez RAH. and hadhrat Mu'aawiya RADI. Hadhrat Ma'aani RAH. became very angry and said, "No one can be compared to the sahabah RADI. of Rasulullaah SAW. Not only was Hadhrat Mu'aawiya RADI. a Sahabi of Rasulullaah SAW. but he was also Rasulullaah SAW.'s brother-in-law, scribe and was entrusted with writing revelation from Allaah.

Allaama Shihaabud Deen Khafaazi RAH. said, "Whoever speaks ill of Hadhrat Mu'aawiya RADI. is a dog from amongst the dogs of Jahannam. Hadhrat lbraheem bin Sa'd Jowhari RAH. says that he once asked Hadhrat Abu Umaamah RADI. who was better between Hadhrat Mu'aawiy RADI. and Umar bin Abdul Azeez RAH. Hadhrat Abu Umaamah RADI. replied, "You cannot compare the Sahabah RADI. of Rasulullaah SAW. anyone."
