Imaan and Aqaa'id - General

There is no difference of opinion between the Ulema of Deoband and the Berelwi scholars concerning marriage during the blessed month of Muharram. The following is a Fatwa issued by Molvi Ahmad Ridha Khan:

"Q: Imaan-80: During the 70 days of Muharram some people from the Sunni group (1) do not make bread, nor do they sweep. They say that Ta'ziyya bread is to be made after the burial. They also (2) do not change their clothing during the ten days and (3) do not marry during this time. What is the ruling?

Answer: All these three acts fall into the category of mourning, which is Haraam."
And Allaah knows best what is most correct.
