Taking omen from Books like Diwaan Haafidh

Answer: While it is permissible to take good omens, it must never be as certain. However, it is not permissible to go to astrologers and fortune tellers to have the future foretold because the Ahadeeth have warned against this. Rasulullaah SAW. said, "The person who goes to a fortune teller and believes what he says has absolved himself from everything that has been revealed to Muhammad."' Mazaahire Haqq explains that absolved himself? could well mean that the person has become a Kaafir and may also be a reference to the severity of the sin.
