Regarding Qawaali in the Urs as being an Act of Reward

Q: Imaan-82: What is the proof for people regarding Qawaali to be an act of reward when carried out by the tombs of saints?

Answer: Qawaali is an impermissible act, which actually causes harm to the saints. Molvi Ahmad Ridha Khan writes about an incident where Hadhrat Sayyid Ibraheem Ameerji walked out of a gathering engaged in Qawaali at the tomb of Khwaja Qutbud Deen Bakhtiyaar Kaki RAH. (this was a time when none of the musical instruments used nowadays were being used). When asked, he revealed that in his meditation by the tomb, he saw that the Sheikh was extremely troubled and, pointing to the people engaged in Qawaali, he said, 'These wretched people have wasted my time" (by distracting him from Dhikr).' And Allaah knows best what is most correct.
