How Far from the Masjid's Well should the Toilets be?

Q: Taharaat-5: We intend building a toilet outside the Masjid. How far from the Masjid's well should this be?

Answer: The Fuqahaa have stipulated a distance of five to seven yards. This will however depend on the land because the basis of the stipulation is that the effect of the urine and stool should not reach the water of the well. There is therefore no fixed distance because the hardness of the ground varies from place to place. You should therefore call in an expert to assess the land. And Allaah knows best what is most correct.
