Continuing the Salaah after One's Wudhu has Broken

Q: Imaan-93 : A person passed wind while performing salaah and knew that this nullifies the wudhu. However, he did not know that he was to terminate the salaah immediately, perform wudhu and then repeat the salaah. He thought that an act of worship as great as salaah should not be terminated. He therefore continued performing the salaah and later made wudhu and repeated the salaah. Will this affect his Imaan and marriage?

Answer: Salaah is nullified when the wudhu breaks and although it is a serious sin to continue the salaah in this condition, it will not affect his Imaan and marriage in this case since it was done in ignorance. It will therefor not be necessary to renew his Imaan and marriage. He ought to repent to Allaah in abundance. And Allaah knows best what is most correct.
