When will a Person be a Ma'zoor find when not?

Q: Taharaat-42: A man has the problem of urine dripping constantly. The Problem has not stopped despite much treatment" He is now very concerned because even though he makes Istinjaa several times, he always doubts his state of purity. He feels that the urine drips even while performing salaah. Is he a Ma' zoor or not and what concessions has the Shari'ah granted to such a person?

Answer: The ruling states that if urine (whether a little or a lot) drips constantly, but does not drip throughout the time of a salaah and a person has a chance to perform salaah during a time when there is no dripping, he will not be regarded as a Ma'zoor. All he has to do is to wait until the urine stops dripping before making wudhu and performing salaah. If such u person then feels that urine is dripping during the salaah, he should check to see whether urine has come out. If it has, he should wash the area, change the clothing and repeat his wudhu. The salaah must also then be repeated. However, if no urine has emerged, he should pay no attention to such feelings in future. An effective way to treat such feelings of doubt is to sprinkle water over the crotch area after making wudhu.

A person will be regarded as being a Ma'zoor only when the dripping continues throughout the entire duration of the salaah and there is no time during which he can perform salaah without the dripping taking place. Such a person should make wudhu and change his (impure) clothing for every salaah and he can then perform the Fardh, Waajib, Sunnah and Nafl salaahs, even though the urine may be dripping all the time. The dripping If the urine throughout the duration of the salaah will not nullify the wudhu.

When the dripping has taken place throughout the entire duration of the salaah and there is no time during which he can perform salaah without the dripping taking place, he will become a Ma'zoor. Thereafter, it is not necessary for the dripping to be as continuous during the times of the other salaah. He will remain a Ma'zoor even though there are only a few drops now and again. He will then cease being a Ma'zoor only when the urine stops completely for the entire duration of a salaah. And Allaah knows best what is most correct.
