TAHAARAH - Cleanliness - GHUSL. BATH

Ghusl be Necessary when One Discovers Stains on the clothing after waking up?

Q: Taharaat-63: A person woke up to find stains on his clothing. He now Doubts whether they are Mani or Madhi. He also cannot remember having Any dreams. Will he need to take a bath?

Answer: Ghusl will be Waajib (compulsory) in such a case. This is the verdict of Imaam Abu Haneefah RAH. and Imaam Muhammad RAH. and it is the most cautious opinion.

Behisti Gohar has the following to say: On awakening, a man or woman notices some wetness on the clothes. In the following eight cases Ghusl will compulsory:

1. S/he is convinced or very sure that it is Mani and remembers having a? wet dream
2. S/he is convinced that it is Mani or Wadi and does not remember having? a wet dream
3. S/he is convinced that it is Madhi and remembers having a wet dream
4. S/he is in doubt as to whether that it is Mani or Madhi, but remembers having a wet dream
5. S/he is in doubt about it being Mani or Wadi and remembers having a wet dream
6. S/he is in doubt as to whether it is Madhi or Wadi and remembers having a wet dream
7. S/he is in doubt as to whether it is Mani, Madhi or Wadi and remembers having a wet dream
8. S/he is in doubt as to whether it is Mani, Madhi or Wadi and does not remember having a wet dream

The situation described in the question corresponds to the eighth one mentioned above. The marginal note of Behisti Gohar at this point states, "Although Shaami has stated that according to consensus Ghusl is not Waajib (compulsory) in this case, Kabeeri states that according to consensus Ghusl is Waajib (compulsory). We have stated the opinion of Kabeeri as a precaution." And Allaah knows best what is most correct.
