Leaving the Masjid After Adhaan without Performing Salaah

Q: Salaah-5: It is Makrooh to leave the Masjid after the Adhaan without performing salaah. is this Makrooh Tahreemi or Tanzeehi?

Answer: Leaving the Masjid after Adhaan without performing salaah and without an excuse valid in the Shari'ah is Makrooh Tahreemi. It will however not be Makrooh if the person intends returning to perform salaah with Jamaa'ah.

A Hadith states that a person is a Munaafiq (hypocrite) who leaves the Masjid after Adhaan without performing salaah, without a valid excuse in the Shari'ah and without the intention of returning to perform salaah with Jamaa'ah. And Allaah knows best what is most correct.
