Q: Salaah-116: Zaid leaves home with the intention of staying in Makkah for two months. Should he perform Qasr salaah en route?

Answer: A person becomes a Musaafir when he embarks on a journey of 48 Sharee miles or more. On such a journey, it will be incumbent for him to perform Qasr salaah unless he stays over at a place where he intends to stay for fifteen or more days. Therefore, a person leaving India for Hajj will perform Qasr salaah throughout his journey to Makkah. And Allaah knows best what is most correct.
