The Status of Tahiyyatul Masjid

Q: Salaah-100: Must Tahiyyatul Masjid be performed every time a person arrives and leaves the Masjid for salaah? Should it be performed before the Sunnah salaah when there are about seven minutes left before the salaah commences?

Answer: It may be performed if it is not the Makrooh time for salaah and only when it can be completed before the Jamaa'ah salaah starts, not otherwise. If a person is continuously entering and leaving the Masjid. it will suffice to perform the Tahiyyatul Masjid salaah once since there is no need to perform it repeatedly. And Allaah knows best what is most correct.
