Will the Salaah be Affected if there remains a sweet taste in the throat while Performing salaah

Q: Salaah-78: I ate something sweet at home before leaving for the Fajr salaah and forgot to gargle my mouth. I then started to taste the sweetness of the food in my throat while performing salaah. Is the salaah valid?

Answer: The salaah will be unaffected and not nullified if it was only the sweetness of the food in the mouth and not the food itself. Shaami (Vol.1 Pg.583) makes it clear that if only the sweetness of a food remained and one swallowed it in salaah, the salaah will not be nullified. And Allaah knows best what is most correct.
