The Watn Asli does not Lose its Status by Travelling to a Watn lqaamah

Q: Salaah-265: I stop performing Qasr salaah when I reach the borders of my hometown of Pareej. Is this correct? There is a Molvi Sahib who maintains that the Watn Asli loses its status when one travels to a Watn Iqaamah. He proves this by saying that Rasulullaah SAW. performed Qasr salaah in Makkah when he went there for Hajj whereas Makkah was his Watn Asli.

Answer: Because Pareej is your Watn Asli, you will perform your salaah in full as soon as you enter its boundaries. You will therefore no longer perform Qasr from here onwards. The statement of the Molvi Sahib that the Watn Asli loses its status when one travels to a Watn lqaamah is incorrect and should be that the Watn Asli loses its status when one travels to another Watn Asli. A Watn Asli does not lose its status when one travels to a Watn lqaamah or when one undertakes a journey the distance of the Safar distance.

If one does not forsake one's Watn Asli and lives in another place for work with the intention of spending one's life there, the second place also becomes a Watn Asli. It is also incorrect to cite the example of Rasulullaah SAW.'s Hajj because Rasulullaah SAW. was a Musaafir when he travelled to Makkah. The Molvi Sahib has unfortunately misunderstood the concept of Hijrah because

Hijrah meant that Rasulullaah SAW. forever forsook Makkah as his hometown without ever considering returning there. In fact, Rasulullaah SAW. even disapproved of any Muhaajir being buried in Makkah. When Hadhrat Sa'd bin khowla RADI. passed away in Makkah and was buried there after going there for some reason, Rasulullaah SAW. was extremely depressed about it.
