A Masjid is not a Prerequisite for the Validity of the Jumu'ah salaah

Q: Salaah-278: A Tablighi Ijtima is due to be held on the outskirts of Barodha, which lies within the town's boundaries. Is the Jumu'ah salaah valid here because it will be difficult for the crowd of four to five thousand to go to the town for the Jumu'ah salaah?

Answer: Since the area is within the boundaries of the city, the Jumu'ah Salaah will be valid here. The presence of a Masjid is not a precondition for the Jumu'ah salaah to be valid as long as all of the public has access to the place where the salaah is performed. However, the rewards for performing the salaah in a Masjid will not be attained. And Allaah knows best what is most correct.
