The Time and Number of Rakaahs for the chaast Salaah

Q: Salaah-314: What is the time for the chaast (Duhaa) salaah and how many Rakaahs does it comprise of?

Answer: While the time for the Chaast salaah is from between sunrise to Zawaal, the best time to perform it is after a quarter of the day has passed For example, if sunrise is at 6:35 a.m. and sunset is at 6:52 p.m., the Chaast salaah may be performed from 9:40 a.m. until Zawaal. The salaah comprises of four Rakaahs, but two may also be performed. If one wishes to perform more Rakaahs, he may perform twelve. And Allaah knows best what is most correct.
