Is the Jumu'ah salaah Valid in Our Town?

Q: Salaah-620: The total population of our village is approximately 3000. We have a courtroom, primary school, high school, bank, police station, post office and even a hospital that caters for all the needs of its patients. Almost all the necessities of life are to be found. Can the Jumu'ah salaah be performed here?

Answer: By your description, your village appears to be a town. The Jumu'ah salaah may be performed in your town on condition that the people of the nearly areas regard it to be a town, if the necessities of life are to be found and if you have a marketplace as well as the necessary artisans needed in everyday life.t It is however best if you could arrange to call two or three experienced Ulema to the town and act according to their decision. And Allaah knows best what is most correct.
