Raising the Hands and Saying 'Aameen for the Du'aas made during the Jumu'ah and Eid Khutbahs

Q: Salaah-691: The Khateeb and the people in the Masjid all raise their hands and say "Aameen" to the du'aas made during the second Khutbah of Jumu'ah and Eid. Is this correct?

Answer: Raising the hands and saying "Aameen" at this time if prohibited. There is no difference of opinion between the people of Deoband and Rizaa Khaan (Berelwi) on this matter. The Rizaa Khan scholar Molvi Amjad Ali Sahib writes, "When the Khateeb is making du'aa for the Muslims, it is prohibited for the listeners to raise their hands and say 'Aameen. Whoever does so will be sinful. And Allaah knows best what is most correct.
