An Imaam who adds the Sound 'haa' to the Takbeers

Q: Salaah-698: What do the Ulema of Deen and the Muftis have to say about an lmaam who says (Allaah Haakbar')" instead of ('Allaahu Akbar') when he calls out the Takbeer Tahreema and the other Takbeers when changing postures. He also adds the "haa" sound when saying (SAMIALLAA HULIMAN HAMEED) and sometimes also in the Qiraa'ah. The same happens when he makes the Salaam. The reason is a condition of the throat, which is permanent and cannot be treated. Can salaah be performed behind him and if so, will it be Makrooh or not? There is currently a controversy regarding the issue here. Please explain.

Answer: I have received your letter and have also heard a recording of your Imaam's salaah. He has recorded the Fajr salaah and brought me a tape. I have also heard him recite personally to me and have found nothing that would make the salaah Makrooh or invalid. You therefore need not have any doubts about him being the Imaam. And Allaah knows best what is most correct.
