When the Wrong Intention is Made

Q: Salaah-336: After commencing the salaah, one recalled that one made the wrong intention by intending Zuhr at the time of Asr or intending a Sunnah rather than Fardh. Until when does one have the option to alter the intention after commencing?

Answer: When salaah has been started without any intention or with the wrong intention, there is no option to alter the intention because the time for the intention has elapsed. The only option is to make a new intention and to restart the salaah.a And Allaah knows best what is most correct.
