Completing Two Missed Rakaahs of the Maghrib Salaah

Q: Salaah-376: How will a person complete his salaah if he misses two Rakaahs of the Maghrib salaah? We currently have a controversy reigning here.

Answer: In this case, the Masbooq must stand up after the Imaam makes Salaam and recite the Thanaa, Ta'awwudh, Tasmiya, Surah Faatiha and a Surah. Thereafter, he will go into Ruku, perform the two Sajdahs and then sit for the Qa'dah. After standing up from the Qa'dah, he will recite Surah Faatiha and a Surah in the second Rakaah and. then sit for the final Qa'dah to complete the salaah. This is the prescribed manner of doing it. However, because of a Hadith from Hadhrat Abdullaah bin Mas'ood RADI. some jurists state that if a person performs the two Rakaahs one after the other without sitting for Qa'dah, neither will Sajdah Sahw be binding nor will he need to repeat the salaah.3 And Allaah knows best what is most correct.
