When a Married Imaam does not Go Home for a year

Q: Salaah-387: Our Imaam is leading the salaah here for two and a half years and has been married for three years. Now that he has not been home for a year, some people say that it is Makrooh to perform salaah behind a person who has not been home for four months. A conflict has now arisen Please explain.

Answer: A married man may not stay away from home without his wife?s permission for more than four months. If the Imaam's wife consents for him to be away for employment, this will be regarded as her permission and performing salaah behind him will be valid without any doubts. And Allaah knows best what is most correct.
