Arranging for the Eid Salaah to be Performed in the Jaami Masjid for the Ill and Elderly

Q: Salaah-549: We have both Hindu and Muslim homes all together in our town. We also have two Masjids and an Eid Gah. The Eid salaah is performed only at the Eid Gah but because they are unable to arrange transport to the Eid Gah, many old, weak and ill people miss the Eid salaah. Will if therefore be permissible to arrange for the Eid salaah to be performed in the Jaami Masjid for the convenience of these people?

Answer: It is Sunnah Mu'akkadah to perform the Eid salaah at the Eid Gah only. It will however be permissible to arrange for the Eid Gah to be performed in the Jaami Masjid for the sake of the ill and elderly. And Allaah knows best what is most correct.
