Will Sajdah Sahw be Necessary for a Delay in making Salaam?

Q: Salaah-510: The Imaam was reciting the Tashahhud, Durood and Du'aa during the final Qa'dah when someone called out "subhaanallaah" to correct the Imaam, thinking that it was to be the first Qa'dah. The Imaam then stood up, but when the other followers called out "Allaaahu Akbar", the Imaam immediately sat down again. He then completed the salaah without performing Sajdah Sahw. We then checked ruling number 19 in the second volume of Behisti Zewar, which states that the salaah needs to be repeated, Was the Imaam to perform Sajdah Sahw since he had already recited more than half of the du'aa? Some people say that there is no need to perform Sajdah Sahw because all the Faraa'idh of salaah had been completed. We are confused and need you to shed light on the matter.

Answer: The salaah in the stated case was incomplete because the Salaam was delayed and the Salaam is amongst the Waajibaat of salaah. Delaying a Waajib act will necessitate Sajdah Sahw. If Sajdah Sahw was not performed, the salaah will have to be repeated. And Allaah knows best what is most correct.
