Can the Husband enter the Wife?s Grave

Q: Janaa'iz-53: Can the husband enter the grave to lower his wife inside?

Answer: When a woman passes away, the husband becomes a stranger from her and may not touch her body. He may however see her face and, with her Mahram relatives, he may even place her body into the bier and lower her into the grave.
Imaam Taahir Sarakhsi RAH. (passed away 542 A.H.) writes it is Makrooh for people to prevent a husband from lifting his wife's body together with the father or brother. He may also enter the grave with them. It is according to this that the Fatwa is issued. And Allaah knows best what is most correct.
