Showing the Face after the Janaazah salaah

Q: Janaa'iz-74: We have a custom here to show the face of the deceased to people after the Janaazah salaah. what is the ruling?

Answer: This custom is unnecessary and Makrooh since it delays the burial, which ought to be hastened. It is for this reason that the Ahadeeth encourage walking briskly with the bier.

When a collective du'aa after the Janaazah salaah is forbidden because of the delay it causes, how can gathering for viewing the face be allowed? And Allaah knows best what is most correct.
