Are the Parents or Husband Obliged to pay for a Woman's Kafan?

Q: Janaa'iz-94: Who is obliged to pay for the Kafan (burial shroud) of a deceased woman? The woman's parents claim that if a woman with living parents passes away, it is the duty of the parents to provide the Kafan. Is this correct? Must the cost be borne by the deceased woman's estate or by her husband?

Answer: If a woman's husband is alive when she passes away, it is his duty to provide the Kafan even though she leaves sufficient wealth behind. It is however not the duty of the parents.l If she has no husband at the time of her death, the expense is to be borne by her estate. And Allaah knows best what is most correct.
