Opening a Restaurant during the days of Ramadhaan

Q: Saum-14: What is the ruling concerning opening a restaurant during the days of Ramadhaan? People of all cultures and religions frequent the restaurant. If it is not permissible to open the restaurant, can it be done only to serve non-Muslims?

Answer: In reverence for the month of Ramadhaan, it is necessary to close a restaurant where eating and drinking takes place regardless of whom the clientele are. And Allaah knows best what is most correct.
