Errors in Fasting Forgiven

Q: Saum-33: The Ahadeeth state that when a person mistakenly eats or drinks while fasting, the fast may be continued because the food and drink is from Allaah. However, errors in salaah and Hajj are not pardoned in the same manner. Why is this?

Answer: The reason is that there is nothing in the condition of the fast itself to remind one that one is fasting. Such errors are therefore overlooked However, facing the Qibla reminds one of salaah and the Ihraam reminds one of the Hajj. Errors are therefore not overlooked in these two acts. and Allaah knows best what is most correct.
