Surplus Monies from the Iftaar fund

Q: Saum-38: Is it necessary to use up all the monies received for lftaar or can they be kept for the following Ramadhaan? Despite using the funds during Ramadhaan, there remains a part unused. On whom must this be spent? Can it be given in cash to the poor or can food be bought and given to them?

Answer: It is necessary to write to the donors and ask them what to do with the funds. It will be wrong to do anything without their consent.
