Fasting an Extra Day

Q: Hil-3: Our old Imaam arrived at our village Paal from Malabaar, where the previous month was 29 days' We are however fasting upon the calculation of the previous month being 30 days. We have therefore fasted for 29 days, while he has fasted for 30 days already. Since we have not seen the new moon tonight' what is he to do?

Answer: Since the moon has not been sighted, he will have to fast an extra day with you and celebrate Eid when you people do. And Allaah knows best what is most correct.
